PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jock Sleed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes to the cage accompanied by Killers. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeffrey Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jock Sleed!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sleed fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sleed throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Miller swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Miller lands with an uppercut that bounces Sleed off the cage and back into range.
Miller is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sleed.
Sleed scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sleed lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miller circles away quickly and effectively.
Miller blocks a head kick by Sleed.
Miller thinks about countering with a head kick.
Sleed moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
As Miller backs off Sleed throws a huge counter combo but Miller manages to avoid it all.

Sleed tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sleed lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miller circles away quickly and effectively.
Sleed throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sleed has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Sleed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miller looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Miller throws a leg kick which misses Sleed's front leg but catches the back leg as Sleed tries to avoid it.

Sleed goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sleed tries a head kick but it misses.
Miller clobbers Sleed with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Miller is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Sleed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Miller fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sleed has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Good leg kick by Miller there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Miller throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Miller takes a swing at Sleed's ribcage but misses.
Sleed throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miller.
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Miller was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sleed.
Sleed's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

and Miller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Sleed with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miller to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Jock Sleed has been cut.
Miller will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sleed throws a series of punches but Miller avoids them all with ease.

Miller fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Miller takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jock Sleed will probably get the nod.

Sleed on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Miller. Miller obviously looking to wear him down.

And Miller counters with a quick kick to the body but Sleed blocks it.
Miller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sleed is breathing heavily.

and Miller counters with a big head kick but Sleed shrugs it off.

Sleed walks forward, straight into a front kick from Miller.
Sleed lands a head kick. Miller smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Sleed stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Miller.
Miller fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sleed on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Miller lands a jab to Sleed's midsection.
Sleed pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Miller scores with a jab. Sleed acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Miller uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


Sleed is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A left lands for Miller.
Sleed is still on wobbly legs! Can Miller finish him?
Sleed lands a high kick!
Miller looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Miller backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Sleed's temple! It sends Sleed violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Miller celebrates and the doctors try to help Sleed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Jeffrey Miller!
Our winner, Jeffrey Miller, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
