The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gatsby closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gatsby cracks Vivaldi with a big elbow.
Vivaldi is not content to let Gatsby control the position.
Gatsby lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Gatsby trying to control the action but Vivaldi is working from the bottom.
Gatsby connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vivaldi some visible discomfort.

Vivaldi is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gatsby wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vivaldi, who protects the arm well.
Vivaldi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vivaldi tries to get out of the position.
Gatsby landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Vivaldi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gatsby on the ground.
Gatsby cracks Vivaldi with a big right hand but Vivaldi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Vivaldi tries to bench press Gatsby off him but Gatsby keeps the position.
Gatsby scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Vivaldi is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gatsby can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
