Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Havasu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggs drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Riggs with a nice head shot there.
Riggs wants to pass the guard but Havasu is keeping the position.
Havasu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Riggs prevents Havasu from getting back to his feet.
Havasu wants to sweep but no luck.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Havasu holds on and takes a little breather.
Riggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Havasu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Riggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Havasu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riggs wants to sweep but Havasu has passed to side control!
Riggs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Havasu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Havasu wants to control but Riggs is keeping him busy.
Riggs is looking for a sweep.
Havasu landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Riggs is not content to let Havasu control the position.
Riggs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Riggs manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Havasu blocks the strikes from Riggs.
Riggs is refusing to be controlled, as Havasu sits in half guard.
Riggs wants to improve his position but Havasu is controlling well.
Riggs tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Riggs is trying to get back to full guard.
Riggs regains full guard. Nicely done.
Riggs has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Havasu has passed into side control.
Riggs is looking to reverse the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Havasu trying to control the position but Riggs is working away.
Riggs taking punishment in the form of punches.
You can see the frustration on Riggs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Havasu is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Riggs is looking to regain half guard here but Havasu keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Riggs trying his best to control but Havasu has mounted him.
Riggs is looking to get to half guard.
Riggs is trying to reverse the position but instead Havasu has taken his back - oops!
Riggs tries to roll but Havasu sticks to his back.
Riggs breaks Havasu's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Riggs postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Riggs is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Riggs postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Riggs lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.


Havasu is rocked!
Riggs stands up over Havasu, holding on to his feet. Riggs throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Havasu is out cold! Riggs lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ryan Riggs!
