The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eugemia moves into range and connects with a jab.
Some wild striking there from Eugemia.
A solid leg kick lands there for Eugemia.
Eugemia misses with a double jab.

Eugemia moves into the clinch.
Meridius tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Eugemia misses with a hook to the ribs.
Meridius gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Eugemia.
Eugemia lands an elbow just above Meridius 's eye.
Our sources have told us that Eugemia has been working on his elbows in the gym.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eugemia blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Eugemia.
Meridius tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Eugemia misses with an elbow over the top.

Eugemia pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Meridius pushes Eugemia back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Eugemia using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Meridius has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Eugemia throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Meridius misses with a body punch.
Meridius swings wildly with an uppercut but Eugemia uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Eugemia.
Eugemia lands a right hand that snaps the head of Meridius backwards.
Meridius lands a left hand.

Meridius lands a takedown into guard.

Eugemia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meridius doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meridius manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Eugemia is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Meridius is aware though and is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Eugemia pulls Meridius in to control the position.
Eugemia wants to sweep but no luck.

Meridius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eugemia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Eugemia working for a triangle but Meridius defends it easily.

Meridius is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Eugemia has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Meridius is looking to defend but Eugemia has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Meridius! Eugemia pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Meridius taps out and this one is all over!
