Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Dickinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Dickinson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Theo Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands a head kick. Dickinson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Dickinson pushes him off.
Jones tries to clinch up but Dickinson circles away and keeps his distance.

Dickinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dickinson showed some decent athleticism there.
Jones pushes Dickinson off but Dickinson dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is trying to control Dickinson's posture but Dickinson avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dickinson controls the position.
Dickinson working away.
Dickinson lands an elbow.
Jones avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dickinson.
Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dickinson is controlling him well.
Jones is letting Dickinson control him for a moment.
Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Dickinson keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dickinson grinds an elbow into Jones's temple.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dickinson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dickinson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Dickinson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dickinson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dickinson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dickinson moves nicely into side control.

Dickinson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Dickinson.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dickinson tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dickinson to the ground. Dickinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dickinson is looking for a counter combo.
David Dickinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Theo Jones.
Dickinson wants to clinch

and Jones counters with a head kick that drops Dickinson to the mat! Dickinson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Dickinson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Dickinson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Dickinson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Dickinson has latched onto it... Big trouble! Dickinson pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Jones is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Dickinson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Dickinson!
