Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dayton McAdams and Jason Morgan. McAdams kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is OVERWERK - Alive. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Dayton McAdams! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Jason Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McAdams shoots in and bounces Morgan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

McAdams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Morgan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Morgan has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morgan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McAdams is keeping the position for now.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Morgan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morgan advances to half guard.

McAdams looking for submissions off his back.
Morgan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morgan is continuing to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McAdams is trying to get back to full guard.
Morgan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Morgan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Morgan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morgan wants to free his trapped foot but McAdams is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Morgan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Morgan wants to advance to full mount but McAdams doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Morgan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Morgan advances position into side control!

Morgan swings around for an armbar but McAdams sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Morgan's guard.

McAdams has gone for a leg lock! Morgan slips out almost immediately though and dives into McAdams's guard.

Morgan is pushing down on McAdams's leg trying to pass to half guard. McAdams is fighting to maintain full guard but Morgan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Morgan works his foot free and advances to mount.
Score +3 for passing guard: McAdams (4) vs (10) Morgan
Morgan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Morgan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The adventures of Morgan the control monster continue. Boring.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Morgan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
McAdams is trying to escape the mount.
Morgan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McAdams is working to get back to half guard.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Morgan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Morgan is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. McAdams is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. McAdams flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Morgan anticipates the leg and manages to get behind McAdams and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Morgan slips an arm under McAdams chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Morgan has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Morgan is squeezing on McAdams like an anaconda would it's prey. McAdams fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jason Morgan!
Jason Morgan very nearly forgot to thank Conviction amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
