Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LePew comes to the cage accompanied by It's Raining Men. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dante Woods!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods misses with a straight right.
LePew tries to move into range but Woods moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Pierre LePew has been cut.
LePew shoots in and drives through. Woods sprawls well.
Woods ducks under a wild hook from LePew.
Woods closes the distance and lands a one-two.
LePew dodges the punch combination from Woods.
Woods thows a body shot but no joy.
LePew fails in his attempt to clinch.
Woods thuds his right hand into LePew's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
LePew looks to land a combination but Woods avoids it well.
LePew avoids a punch combination nicely.
LePew misses with the combination.
LePew throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Woods pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dante Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Woods, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Woods fails to land with a series of punches.
Woods scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
LePew tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Woods swivels and escapes.
Woods throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Woods lands a straight punch to the body, keeping LePew at a distance.
LePew slips a jab and a cross from Woods.
Woods lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LePew circles away quickly and effectively.
Woods throws a left and a right that both miss
and LePew connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A combination from Woods does no damage.
LePew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre LePew. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woods throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Woods takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Woods lunges at LePew with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by LePew's hand.
LePew dodges the punch combination from Woods.

Woods misses with a looping left.
Woods misses with a wild combination.
Woods looks gassed!

LePew rushes Woods and presses him up against the cage.
Woods wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

LePew has hold of one of Woods's legs. Woods is fighting the takedown attempt but LePew gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Woods thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

LePew drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and LePew jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
LePew prevents Woods from getting back to his feet.

LePew is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Woods is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

LePew drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and LePew jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

LePew drops back, looking for a kneebar! Woods looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Woods looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Woods!
LePew is looking to regain half guard here but Woods keeps moving and retains side control.
Woods is looking to take a break and control but LePew is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
LePew manages to get back to half guard.
Woods controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

LePew actively working from the bottom here.
It looks like Woods is going to stand back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
LePew looking for submissions off his back.

LePew is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Woods pulls his head out easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dante Woods dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Pierre LePew's cut.
That's time! LePew's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


LePew displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Woods throws out the jab.

Woods swings and misses with a hook to the body.

LePew closes the distance and clinches.
LePew tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Woods just stands there and leans against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
LePew is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Woods pulls him back up using the underhooks.
LePew jumps guard but Woods stands there with LePew around his waist. LePew gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre LePew. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LePew tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Woods just stands there and leans against the cage.
LePew is working for takedown but Woods is calmly controlling the position for now.
Woods wants to break free but LePew has control.
LePew jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Woods walks away with a smile on his face. LePew gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
LePew throws a looping overhand right but Woods ducks down to avoid it.
LePew keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Woods.

A big left from Woods misses.
Woods looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Woods closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Woods misses with a few strikes there.
LePew lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Woods cracks LePew with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Woods lands a lovely overhand right.


Pierre LePew's cut is getting worse.
Dante Woods is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from LePew.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Woods lands with an uppercut that bounces LePew off the cage and back into rage.
Woods with a hook.
Woods misses with a looping left.
LePew moves out of range of the strikes.

LePew throws a nice looking combination but Woods bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Some wild striking there from Woods.
Woods throws a jab when LePew was well out of range.
Woods has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from LePew finds it's way round the side to connect with Woods's head.
LePew lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by LePew.
Dante Woods seems to be getting the better of the standup.
LePew tries to clinch up.
LePew missing with a left hand there. Woods was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Woods throws a left and a right that both miss

and LePew counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Woods!

LePew is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! LePew extends the arm and Woods is forced to tap!
