Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Plitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Plitt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Plitt!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Plitt was well out of range. Poor timing from West.
Plitt throws out a counter right but West avoids it with no problem.

Plitt feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends West sprawling to the canvas! West rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Plitt finish him?!


It looks like Billy West has been cut.
West blocks a jab.
West scores with a jab to the head.
West ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

West closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - West lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plitt looking to control.
West lands a couple of decent looking shots.
West working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Plitt's head.
Plitt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
West throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Plitt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Plitt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
West postures up in Plitt's guard and throws a big left but Plitt blocks it.
West scoring with some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Plitt wants to sweep here but West controlling him for the moment.
West working some strikes from top position.
West working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
West throws a big elbow that misses.
Plitt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in West's guard.

Plitt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. West is keeping the position for now.
Plitt has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of West is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West keeping moving, preventing Plitt from controlling successfully.
West has control of Plitt's left arm, preventing Plitt from doing any damage.
West is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
West working the head and body with strikes.
West is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. West connects with a nice short shot to Plitt's temple.

West seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.


Plitt is rocked!
West is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Plitt is still in real trouble! Can West finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
West lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Plitt quite badly. Plitt pulls West in close trying to recover. West postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Plitt on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Plitt doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy West!
Billy West seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
