Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marko Davydenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Duchamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duchamp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Davydenko went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Duchamp looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Martin Duchamp has been cut.
Duchamp shoots for a takedown but Davydenko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Duchamp looks for a takedown but Davydenko sprawls well.
Duchamp fails with the takedown
and Davydenko counters with a left and a right that stings Duchamp.
Marko Davydenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Duchamp.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duchamp tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Davydenko is able to avoid easily.
It looked like Davydenko was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Duchamp.

Duchamp looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A punch lands to the side of Duchamp 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Duchamp ducks right into an uppercut from Davydenko.
The fight stays on the outside here - Duchamp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Duchamp shoots for a double leg takedown but Davydenko sprawls well. He's pushed Duchamp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Duchamp looks to move away, Davydenko throws a big counter combo but Duchamp just gets out of the way.

Davydenko paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Duchamp avoids the body shot from Davydenko.
Davydenko sets himself, and Duchamp steps forward looking for the clinch! Davydenko avoids it this time.
Duchamp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davydenko tries to avoid it but Duchamp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davydenko to the ground. Davydenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Davydenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Duchamp shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davydenko sprawls well. Davydenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Duchamp gets slowly back to his feet.

Duchamp darts in and clinches Davydenko up against the cage.
Duchamp tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Davydenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Duchamp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Duchamp drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Davydenko gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Martin Duchamp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Davydenko counters with a straight right hand.


That has opened up Martin Duchamp's cut even more.
Duchamp has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Davydenko finds it's way round the side to connect with Duchamp's head.
Davydenko lands a glancing blow to the side of Duchamp's head.
Davydenko is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The fighters circling - Davydenko throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A frustrated look appears on Davydenko's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Duchamp needs to keep his hands up - Davydenko had a free shot at his head there.
Davydenko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Duchamp shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davydenko as he avoids it easily.

and Davydenko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Duchamp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Davydenko as he jumps to the side.
Davydenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Duchamp changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Davydenko fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Duchamp shoots in looking for a takedown but Davydenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duchamp's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Davydenko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Duchamp on the side of the head.

Duchamp is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Davydenko digs a good body shot into Duchamp's ribs.
Davydenko lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Duchamp backs up against the cage.

Duchamp takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Davydenko feints a jab promting Duchamp to slip. Davydenko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Duchamp slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


The cut above Martin Duchamp's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Duchamp has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Duchamp clinches.
Duchamp has Davydenko pushed against the cage.
Duchamp jumps guard but Davydenko turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Davydenko wants to get back to striking at distance but Duchamp won't allow it.
Duchamp is trying to drag Davydenko to the mat but Davydenko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A head punch on the inside from Davydenko fails to land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
