Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joao Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto De Leon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Araujo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is This time its war. Roberto De Leon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Joao Araujo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Leon forces Araujo back against the cage and clinches.
Araujo tries a body shot but De Leon blocks it.
A head punch on the inside from Araujo fails to land.
De Leon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
De Leon tries to work over Araujo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Araujo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
De Leon throws a head punch that misses.

De Leon manages to break the clinch.

De Leon moves into the clinch.
Araujo misses with the head strike.
Araujo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Araujo blocks the elbow strike.

De Leon moves into range and clinches up with Araujo.

De Leon forces Araujo back against the cage and clinches.
De Leon goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Araujo's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
De Leon misses with a hook from the clinch.
De Leon swings wildly with an uppercut but Araujo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Araujo is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but De Leon is defending well.
Araujo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but De Leon has him pressed against the cage.
Araujo is trying to break free.
De Leon's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
A nice right hand lands inside from De Leon.
De Leon lands an uppercut.

Nice body punch from De Leon - that landed with a thud.
De Leon scores with a shoulder strike.
Araujo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Araujo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
De Leon wants to break the clinch but can't.

De Leon lands with a left to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

De Leon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Araujo backwards.
De Leon lands a body shot in the clinch.

A right hook to the body lands for De Leon.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Araujo tries to pull guard but De Leon forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

De Leon tries to land a knee to the head but Araujo blocks with his arms.

Araujo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

De Leon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Araujo backwards.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, De Leon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

De Leon lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Araujo is rocked!


It looks like Joao Araujo has been cut.
De Leon lands with a left to the head.
Oh Araujo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Araujo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. De Leon just stands there and leans against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Araujo fails to land.
Araujo seems to have got his legs back now.
De Leon tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
De Leon avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto De Leon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Joao Araujo's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



De Leon has closed the distance and engaged Araujo in a clinch.
Araujo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De Leon walks away with a smile on his face. Araujo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
De Leon has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

De Leon lands a left and a right that send Araujo crashing to the mat, dazed. De Leon thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Araujo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Araujo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Araujo prevents De Leon from getting back to his feet.
Araujo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Araujo stops De Leon from standing up.
De Leon is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Araujo dives into side control.

Araujo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Araujo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

De Leon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Araujo asserts his dominance and retains side control.
De Leon is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Araujo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Leon, who protects the arm well.

Araujo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Leon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
De Leon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Araujo happy to just control the position for now.
De Leon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Araujo is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Leon is not content to let Araujo control the position.

Araujo tries for a kimura but De Leon is defending well.
Araujo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Araujo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Araujo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, De Leon has escaped the position, nice work there.

The ground and pound from Araujo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

De Leon is trying to buck Araujo off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Roberto De Leon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Leon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Araujo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

De Leon doesn't manage to clinch there - Araujo circles away.

De Leon wants to counter with a clinch but Araujo pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Araujo was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

This has been an exciting period of action!
De Leon tries to work over Araujo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Araujo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Araujo wants to break free but De Leon has control.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, De Leon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Araujo jumps guard but De Leon stands there with Araujo around his waist. Araujo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roberto De Leon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think De Leon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
