Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez circles away from the clinch attempt.

Vasquez drives through with a takedown into Hendrix's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hendrix has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vasquez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Vasquez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Vasquez wants to get up but he can't break Hendrix's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hendrix bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasquez's guard.

Hendrix is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Vasquez still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Vasquez has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Vasquez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hendrix has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vasquez has managed to get both his arms back between Hendrix's legs - danger averted.

Hendrix working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vasquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vasquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hendrix is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vasquez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hendrix.

Hendrix is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vasquez is just riding it out for now. Hendrix eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alvaro Hendrix.
Well Vasquez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
