Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edgardo Wilder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimy Sun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Edgardo Wilder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimy Sun!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sun tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sun moves into the clinch.
Sun working Wilder over with knees to the body.
Sun tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wilder smiles and moves away.
Sun tries to clinch but Wilder is having none of it.

A head kick lands from Sun that sends Wilder to the canvas. Wilder tries to scramble back to his feet but Sun brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Edgardo Wilder has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wilder can't do much from the bottom here.
Wilder is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sun's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Wilder is looking to improve his position.
Wilder could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sun is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Wilder manages to get to full guard.

Wilder wants to sweep but no luck.
Wilder pulls Sun in close to prevent any damage.
Wilder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sun tries to kick Wilder off but Wilder keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wilder is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilder escapes and gets back to his feet.

Sun dives in and scores a takedown into Wilder's guard.

Wilder pushes Sun off and scrambles back to his feet.

Wilder closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sun to the mat! Sun manages to get full guard.
Wilder landing with the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sun working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wilder.
Wilder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wilder decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sun, up you get!

Sun clinches with his opponent.
Sun is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wilder to keep the fight standing.
Sun has had enough of the clinch but Wilder keeps him there for the moment.
Sun tries to stall but Wilder uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sun pulls guard successfully.
Wilder is looking to work some ground and pound but Sun has wrist control.
Sun wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Wilder manages to pass to side control.

Sun has hold of Wilder's hands but Wilder slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wilder prevents Sun from standing back up.
Wilder is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Sun tries to buck Wilder off but he can't manage it.
Sun really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wilder goes for an armbar but Sun turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sun.

Wilder pushes Sun off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edgardo Wilder will probably get the nod.

That's time! Wilder's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sun wants to clinch.
Wilder drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sun sprawls and moves away.
A punch combination from Sun misses.
Sun is looking to clinch but Wilder is avoiding it.
Sun fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilder tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sun pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wilder shoots in and gets a takedown into Sun's guard.

Wilder postures up in Sun's guard and throws a big left but Sun blocks it.
Wilder might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sun is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wilder drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sun dives on top into guard.

Sun wanted to stand there but Wilder had control of the position.

Wilder manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Sun lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wilder.
Wilder jumps guard but Sun stands there with Wilder around his waist. Wilder gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wilder takes an elbow to the forehead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sun avoiding damage.
Wilder jumps guard but Sun turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgardo Wilder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sun lands a hook that snaps the head of Wilder backwards.

Wilder connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilder lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Wilder makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Wilder stands and throws Sun's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sun tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Sun is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Wilder cracks Sun with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Wilder has hold of Sun's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sun manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wilder cracks Sun with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wilder lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Sun trying desperately to get to his feet.
Wilder looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sun lands with an overhand left.

Wilder takes the fight into the clinch.
Sun avoiding damage.
Sun lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Sun tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wilder smiles and moves away.
Wilder swats away the attempt to clinch by Sun.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sun darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sun looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wilder feinted with a counter takedown.
Sun tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jimy Sun seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sun pushes Wilder up against the cage in a clinch.

Sun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sun takes the fight into the clinch.

Wilder drags the fight down to the ground.

Wilder has his feet on Sun's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sun tries to close the distance and clinch but Wilder swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sun ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Wilder's jaw. Wilder's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Sun does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jimy Sun!
Jimy Sun seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
