Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anzhor Azhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Octavio Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 58 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anzhor Azhiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Octavio Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Azhiev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramos circles away.
Ramos misses with a few strikes there.

Ramos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Azhiev to the mat! Azhiev manages to get full guard.

Azhiev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Azhiev looking for a guillotine here but Ramos defends easily.
Ramos wants to control from the top but Azhiev keeps moving.

Ramos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ramos stuffs the takedown attempt from Azhiev. Azhiev gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ramos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Azhiev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramos tries to avoid it but Azhiev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramos to the ground. Ramos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anzhor Azhiev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ramos clinches up against the cage.
Ramos lands a shoulder strike.
Azhiev on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Azhiev jumps guard but Ramos stands there with Azhiev around his waist. Azhiev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ramos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ramos has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ramos lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Azhiev is trying to pull guard but Ramos has him pressed against the cage.
Azhiev jumps guard but Ramos stands there with Azhiev around his waist. Azhiev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Azhiev is breathing heavily.
Ramos is pushing Azhiev up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ramos takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ramos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ramos stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Ramos lands a right hook to the body.
Ramos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Azhiev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Ramos clinches up against the cage.
Ramos lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Ramos lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Azhiev backwards.
Ramos misses with a knee to the head.

Ramos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Azhiev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ramos defends well and Azhiev ends up having to push Ramos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Ramos makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ramos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Ramos counters with a one-two to the body.
Ramos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Azhiev is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Ramos closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Azhiev did well to prevent Ramos getting side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ramos stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Anzhor Azhiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ramos ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ramos scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Ramos closes the distance and pushes Azhiev back into the cage.
Ramos works on Azhiev's body with a couple of short punches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ramos.
Ramos tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Azhiev avoids it.
Azhiev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ramos smiles and moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Azhiev enables Ramos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Azhiev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ramos working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Azhiev's head.
Ramos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Azhiev's head.

Ramos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Azhiev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ramos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ramos lands a left hand.
Azhiev tries to pull guard but Ramos holds him up against the cage and eventually Azhiev drops back down to his feet.
Azhiev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ramos gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ramos lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Azhiev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ramos just stands there and leans against the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Azhiev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ramos fights it off and pushes away nicely.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Octavio Ramos dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Ramos feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Azhiev sprawling to the canvas! Azhiev rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ramos finish him?!

Ramos scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Oh Azhiev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

With the fighters up against the cage, Ramos throws an elbow but misses.
Azhiev seems to have got his legs back now.
Ramos lands a shoulder strike.
Ramos lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Azhiev backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Azhiev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramos swivels and escapes.
Ramos lands a hook that stumbles Azhiev back into the cage. Ramos follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Azhiev to the canvas! Ramos pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Azhiev has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Octavio Ramos!
Octavio Ramos very nearly forgot to thank Key Clothing LLC amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
Anzhor Azhiev was interviewed post fight and said 'I still want that title shot. Im the most experienced fighter here and everyday wants to see me smash the champ so lets do it whenever he starts ducking me.'.
