Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarn with a lazy takedown attempt
and Joe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Michael Scarn has been cut.
Scarn darts in trying to clinch
and Joe counters with a nice uppercut.
Scarn misses with a takedown attempt
and Joe counters with a right hand to the body.
Joe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Scarn.
It looked like Joe wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Scarn feints and as Joe raises his hands in defense, Scarn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Joe looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Michael Scarn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Scarn jumps guard and drags Joe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Scarn wants to sweep but no luck.

Scarn thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Joe creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Scarn sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scarn is looking to regain half guard here but Joe keeps moving and retains side control.
Joe throws an elbow but Scarn slips to the side and avoids it well.
Scarn takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
You can see the frustration on Scarn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Scarn looks for a takedown but Joe sprawls well.
Joe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scarn.
Scarn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Joe misses with an uppercut. Scarn saw that one coming.
Scarn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joe but Joe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Scarn lands a nice hook to Joe's body. Joe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Joe tries to clinch there but Scarn circles away.
A nice side step and Scarn releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Scarn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Joe defends it nicely.
Joe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Joe counters with a head kick that drops Scarn to the mat! Scarn scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Scarn is rocked!
Scarn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Joe closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Scarn out cold! Scarn corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
