Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ulf Ek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solomon Kahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Solomon Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ek digs a good hook to Kahn's body.
Ek missing with a left hand there. Kahn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ek throws a hook but Kahn blocks it.

and Kahn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kahn pushes Ek up against the cage in a clinch.

Ek misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kahn lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ek backwards.
Kahn keeps control of Ek as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short body shot lands from Kahn as the two fighters clinch.

Kahn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ek fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kahn manages to avoid it.

Ek throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ek slips under a jab from Kahn.
Kahn ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kahn throws a solid leg kick but Ek takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kahn.
Ek misses with a takedown attempt - Kahn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kahn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ek throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kahn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kahn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ek loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Ek is trying to maintain the position but Kahn is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like Kahn is going to stand back up.
Kahn is keen to just control but Ek is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ek wants to improve his position but Kahn is controlling well.
Kahn is taking a breather. Ek says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Kahn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kahn is thwarting Ek's attempts to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ek jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ek keeps the fight on the outside.

and Ek counters with a shoot takedown. Kahn fights it but they end up in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ulf Ek will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ek looks to throw the jab but Kahn is out of range.

Ek misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Kahn misses the target.
A little feinted left hand from Ek on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Ek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kahn but Kahn pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Kahn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kahn moves away from the strike by Ek.
Kahn throws a low kick but Ek moves out of range easily.
Kahn tries to clinch up.

Kahn lands a left and a right that send Ek crashing to the mat, dazed. Kahn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Ek is rocked!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ek fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kahn sprawls well initially but Ek persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kahn manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ek keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Ek scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ek stalling in the clinch but Kahn improves position.
Kahn has a couple of punches blocked by Ek.
Ek is trying to break free.
Ek tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kahn's elbow.

Still in the clinch, Kahn scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kahn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ek goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kahn prevents it.

Ek lands a nice uppercut.

Ek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheers as Kahn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ek doesn't seem phased though.

Kahn feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ek sprawling to the canvas! Ek rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kahn finish him?!
Oh Ek is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ek will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kahn was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Ek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ek seems to have got his legs back now.
Ek looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kahn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ulf Ek. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kahn throws a jab when Ek was well out of range.
Ek's corner calls for a 1-2. Ek obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Kahn scores with a hook to the body. Ek takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ek takes a swing at Kahn's ribcage but misses.
Nice sprawl there from Kahn as Ek shoots in.
Kahn throws a lazy right hand but Ek sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ek ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kahn misses with a hook. Ek ducked under it nicely.
Ek throws a looping overhand right but Kahn ducks down to avoid it.

Kahn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kahn connects with a body shot that sends Ek's belly button to the back.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kahn.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kahn throws a leg kick but Ek moved away.
Ek on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kahn misses with a head kick.
Ek swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Solomon Kahn seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Ek counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kahn won't be happy with that.
Kahn is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ek landing strikes.
Ek is chipping away with strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Solomon Kahn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kahn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
