The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darmody throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Darmody connects with a leg kick. Assid looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Assid on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Darmody cracks Assid with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Darmody tries to bum rush Assid with a series of wild strikes but Assid uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

As Darmody backs off Assid throws a huge counter combo but Darmody manages to avoid it all.

Darmody fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Assid looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Darmody really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Darmody throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Assid sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Nice uppercut lands for Darmody. That snapped Assid's head back.
Darmody is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Darmody lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Assid takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Assid will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Assid is trying desperately to land a takedown but Darmody is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Assid.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Assid is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Darmody is trying to escape and Assid transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Darmody is forced to tap! Nice work there by Assid! Very nice indeed!
