Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sakazuki Akainu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Van Gogh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakazuki Akainu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sakazuki Akainu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Pierre Van Gogh!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gogh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Akainu but Akainu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice jab there from Akainu.
Akainu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Van Gogh.
Akainu scores with a jab.
A solid leg kick lands there for Akainu.
Van Gogh dives in for a single leg takedown but Akainu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Akainu attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Akainu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Akainu cracks the inside of Van Gogh's front leg.

Akainu connects with a single shot there.
Van Gogh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akainu's waist but Akainu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Gogh off to one side.
Sakazuki Akainu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre Van Gogh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Akainu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Van Gogh has time to react.
Van Gogh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Akainu defends it nicely.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Van Gogh crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Akainu - the referee stops the clock and Van Gogh gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Akainu. Van Gogh manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

No luck for Van Gogh with that takedown attempt.
Van Gogh looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Akainu connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Van Gogh to the floor! Akainu dives in looking for the finish!

Akainu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Van Gogh is still in real trouble! Can Akainu finish him?
Akainu looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Van Gogh keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Van Gogh seems to have recovered his senses.
Van Gogh is trying to get back to full guard.

Akainu is looking for a kimura but Van Gogh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Akainu to get the leverage.
Akainu is trying to control. Van Gogh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Akainu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Gogh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Akainu.

Akainu is trying to control. Van Gogh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Akainu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Van Gogh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Akainu pulls his head out easily.

Akainu fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Van Gogh is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Akainu is landing with some decent strikes but Van Gogh is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Van Gogh sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Van Gogh is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Akainu scores with a couple of nice shots.
Van Gogh won't allow Akainu to pass to mount.
Akainu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Van Gogh makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van Gogh.

Akainu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Van Gogh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akainu has managed to get both his arms back between Van Gogh's legs - danger averted.
Akainu stands up over Van Gogh, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akainu passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Akainu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sakazuki Akainu dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Akainu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Akainu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Akainu controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Van Gogh is out! Akainu gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sakazuki Akainu!
During a confident post fight interview, Sakazuki Akainu thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
