Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zane Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Marley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zane Howard has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zane Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Marley!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marley has managed to clinch.
Marley displaying some good clinch control by pressing Howard up against the cage.
Marley leaning against his opponent.

Marley breaks from the clinch.
Marley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Howard shoots in for a double leg but Marley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Howard misses with a takedown attempt - Marley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Howard closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marley did well to prevent Howard getting side control.
Howard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Marley wants to control but Howard is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Marley is looking to escape.
Howard scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marley is doing well to control the position and prevent Howard from advancing to side control.
Marley regains full guard. Nicely done.
Howard wants to control from the top but Marley keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marley is on top in guard.

Howard throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Howard keeping moving, preventing Marley from controlling successfully.
Marley lands a couple of digs.
Howard being controlled here, momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Marley might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Marley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Howard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Howard is working an open guard so Marley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Marley clinches up with Howard and pushes him back against the cage.
Marley lands a right hand.
Howard is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Marley to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zane Howard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Howard is trying to force a seperation but Marley has the dominant position.

Marley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Marley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marley wants to stand and escape but Howard is having none of it.
Marley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Marley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marley chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Marley dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Marley closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Howard did well to prevent Marley getting side control.
It looks like Marley is going to stand back up.
Marley has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Howard is desperately trying to improve his position but Marley has a good base and remains in mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marley wants to stand but Howard is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Marley looking to control and managing it successfully.

Marley with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Howard looks a forlorn figure.
Marley raining down shots from the mount!
Howard tries to hold on but Marley pushes him away.
Marley controlling the pace for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howard is squirming around, avoiding Marley's attempts to control the action.
Howard is wriggling around trying to escape.
Marley scoring with strikes but Howard is staying in there.
Marley trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Marley breaks from Howard's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Marley has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Howard is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bob Marley!
