Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rich Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Concrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rich Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Concrete!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez avoids the head kick by Concrete.
Perez is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Concrete.

Perez gets caught flat footed, as Concrete shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Perez keeping moving, preventing Concrete from controlling successfully.
Concrete content to stall in guard here.
Concrete throws an elbow that misses. Perez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Concrete's guard. Nice move by Perez!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Concrete is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perez defends well.

Concrete is pulling down on Perez's head to control his posture.
Perez wants to control from the top but Concrete keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Concrete tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Concrete controls Perez momentarily but Perez frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Concrete shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Concrete was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Perez is not content to let Concrete control the position.
Concrete tries to move into full mount but can't pass Perez's legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Concrete is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Perez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Concrete working away.

Concrete decides to stand back up. Concrete steps back and let's Perez get back to his feet.
Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perez throws a right and a left that both miss.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Concrete just misses with a punch to the body.

Concrete looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Perez!
Concrete with the ground and pound but Perez regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Concrete is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Perez is trying to maintain the position but Concrete is very close to passing his half guard.
Concrete really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Concrete wants to stand up but Perez has a hold of him and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Concrete wants to clinch up but Perez keeps it at a distance.
Concrete tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Concrete takes the fight into the clinch.
Perez is looking for a takedown.

Concrete escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Concrete swinging wildly here.
Concrete throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Concrete tightens his grip and picks Perez up, before dumping him to the ground. Perez manages to land in guard.

Concrete wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Perez has a closed guard, preventing Concrete from standing up.
Concrete trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Perez has his foot on Concrete's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Concrete works his way back into a safe position though.
Concrete has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Concrete seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Concrete wanted to stand there but Perez had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Concrete.

Perez gets caught flat footed, as Concrete shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Concrete stands up over Perez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Concrete's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Concrete looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Perez!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Concrete is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Perez's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Concrete showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Concrete tries a head kick but it misses.
Perez wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Concrete feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Concrete postures up in Perez's guard and throws a big left but Perez blocks it.
Concrete slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Perez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Perez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Concrete defends it easily.
Concrete looking to pass the guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Concrete fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Perez to the ground. Concrete is now in Perez's guard.
Concrete forces his way into half guard.

Concrete passes to full mount!
Concrete connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Concrete wants to control the pace but Perez is squirming around nicely.
The referee warns Perez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Johnny Concrete has got the better of the ground game so far.

Concrete tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Concrete goes for an armbar but Perez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Perez.
Perez is working Concrete over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Concrete looking for subs off his back but Perez has passed one foot through into half guard.

Concrete tries to roll over but Perez keeps him under control.
Perez wants to take a breather but Concrete is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Perez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Rich Perez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnny Concrete is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Perez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Johnny Concrete comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Concrete has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
