The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilliam dives in for a single leg takedown but Puerto sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Puerto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gilliam does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

My spies in Physical Training Sparring Gym inform me that Puerto has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Gilliam has left one of his arms exposed and Puerto doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Gilliam screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
