The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amateur fails in his attempt to clinch.
Karasev scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Amateur shoots in looking for a takedown. Karasev tries to sprawl out of it but Amateur keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Karasev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Amateur shoots in for a takedown but Karasev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Karasev fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Karasev bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Amateur's head backwards.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Karasev and Amateur goes tumbling to the canvas! Karasev follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Amateur is rocked!

Amateur is refusing to be controlled, as Karasev sits in half guard.
Amateur is still in real trouble! Can Karasev finish him?

Karasev escapes and gets back to his feet.
Amateur is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Karasev lands a big shot that drops Amateur! Can he finish him?

Karasev decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Amateur, up you get!
Karasev connects with the punch.
Karasev lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Amateur at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Karasev cracks Amateur with an uppercut from hell and Amateur crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Karasev's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Amateur is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Amateur is working an open guard so Karasev takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Amateur dives in and grabs Karasev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karasev pushes down on Amateur's head and hops out.
Amateur seems to have recovered his senses.
Alexey Karasev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of This Amateur.

Amateur gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Karasev points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Amateur wakes up just in time to hear Karasev thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
