Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Koko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Frenandes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Koko stalks Frenandes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Frenandes's face. Frenandes staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like David Frenandes has been cut.

Frenandes closes the distance and pushes Koko back into the cage.
Frenandes has Koko pressed against the cage, preventing Koko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Koko working hard to break the clinch.
Koko has had enough of the clinch but Frenandes keeps him there for the moment.

Frenandes jumps into guard, dragging Koko to the mat.

Koko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Frenandes has his foot on Koko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koko works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koko gets to his feet - Frenandes follows without any prompting.
Koko scores with a shot to the body.
Koko has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rabid Dog in the buildup to the fight.
Koko connects with a jab.
Kenji Koko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frenandes checks the leg kick nicely there.
Koko lands a nice looking body shot.
Frenandes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Frenandes tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Frenandes dodges the punch combination from Koko.

Koko drops Frenandes with a beautiful combination! Frenandes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Koko is looking for the KO!
No joy there for Koko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Koko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Frenandes tries to clinch up but Koko circles away and keeps his distance.
Koko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Frenandes was well out of range. Poor timing from Koko.
Frenandes tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Frenandes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


That has opened up David Frenandes's cut even more.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frenandes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Koko.
Koko misses with a kick to the body.
Koko misses with a straight left.
Frenandes is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Frenandes seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Koko shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Frenandes is backing up but Koko catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Frenandes covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Koko Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenji Koko!
A relieved looking Kenji Koko thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
