Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Makebono Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ales Zhandunka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 77 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Makebono Bowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ales Zhandunka!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowen gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Zhandunka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bowen closes the distance but Zhandunka moves to the side
and Zhandunka counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bowen thinking.
Bowen looks to clinch
and Zhandunka counters with a straight right hand.
Bowen moves to clinch but Zhandunka breaks away
and Zhandunka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bowen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zhandunka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zhandunka is looking for the big counter here.
Zhandunka tests Bowen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zhandunka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bowen takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Bowen closes the distance and pushes Zhandunka back into the cage.
Bowen is trying to push Zhandunka away but Zhandunka has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bowen lands with a right to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zhandunka breaks the clinch.
Bowen closes the distance looking to clinch
and Zhandunka counters with a right hand to the body.
Zhandunka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhandunka avoids the head kick by Bowen.
Bowen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zhandunka swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bowen is looking to clinch but Zhandunka is avoiding it.

Bowen moves into range and clinches up with Zhandunka.

Bowen tries to clinch there but Zhandunka circles away.

It looks like Makebono Bowen has been cut.
Bowen closes the distance looking to clinch
and Zhandunka cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Zhandunka connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Zhandunka digs a good body shot into Bowen's ribs.
Bowen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Zhandunka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zhandunka scores with a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bowen wants to clinch but Zhandunka slips to the side
and Zhandunka counters with a stiff right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bowen throws a sloppy head kick
and Zhandunka counters with a one-two to the body.


Bowen is rocked!
Zhandunka throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Bowen stumbling backwards into the cage! Bowen bounces back off the cage towards Zhandunka, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Zhandunka lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Zhandunka celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ales Zhandunka!
Our winner, Ales Zhandunka, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
