PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bradley's choice of entrance music: rocky road to dublin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Emanuel Case!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Bradley!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Case's waist but Case gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bradley off to one side.
Case tries to counter with a takedown but Bradley is quick to defend against it.
Case defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bradley.
Joe Bradley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bradley throws a leg kick but Case checks it.
As Bradley tries to get set, Case tries to push him back and clinch up but Bradley manages to avoid the attempt.
Bradley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Case looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bradley is defended easily by Case.
Case tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bradley manages to circle out of the way.
Emanuel Case has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Bradley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bradley has managed to clinch.
Bradley wants to take the fight to the mat but Case manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Case ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Case no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bradley trying to control but Case is working from the bottom.
Case looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Case will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Case continues to stall.
Case being controlled here, momentarily.
Bradley is fighting to break Case's control of his arms but Case is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Case trying to strike off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Case gets tackled into the cage by Bradley. Bradley maintains the clinch.
Bradley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bradley tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bradley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Case has him pressed against the cage.
Case really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Case escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bradley moves into the clinch successfully.

Bradley jumps guard but Case stands there with Bradley around his waist. Bradley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bradley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Case smiles and moves away.
Bradley throws a body shot but no joy.
Bradley fails with a takedown attempt.
Bradley throws a head kick that misses

and Case counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Case looking for a submission but Bradley manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Case's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bradley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Case controls the pace.
Case throwing strikes but missing.
Case chips away with some ground and pound.
Bradley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Case drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bradley dives on top into guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Case controlling Bradley's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Emanuel Case will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bradley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Case circles away.
Case is looking to counter the offense by Bradley and move into the clinch.
Bradley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Bradley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Case is fending him off so far but Bradley persists. Nope, Case circles away and we're back to standing.

Bradley shoots for a double leg takedown but Case sprawls well. He's pushed Bradley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Case pulls Bradley in close to his closed guard and prevents Bradley from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Case has his foot on Bradley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bradley works his way back into a safe position though.
Case is pulling down on Bradley's head to control his posture.
Bradley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Case has control of Bradley's left arm, preventing Bradley from doing any damage.
Case is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bradley can do to turn this around?

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bradley wants to control from the top but Case keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bradley avoids the head kick by Case.
Bradley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Case slaps away a takedown attempt from Bradley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bradley misses with a takedown attempt - Case sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Case appears to be looking for a big counter.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Case misses with a wild combination.

Case forces Bradley back against the cage and clinches.
Bradley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bradley tries to break the clinch but Case is controlling the position.

Case pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bradley shoots for a takedown but Case saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Case's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bradley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Case avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bradley clinches up against the cage.

Bradley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bradley shoots in but no luck this time.
Bradley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bradley or perhaps it was just good defense by Case, which made it look bad.
Case seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Bradley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bradley throws a lazy head kick

so Case counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bradley is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Case dives into side control.

Case in side control lands a decent elbow.
Case in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Case is trying to get an arm triangle but Bradley is defending well.

Case scores with punches from side control.
Bradley is looking for a sweep.
Case landing a few strikes.
Bradley seems a little lost for a moment, as Case dominates the positioning.
Case trying to control the action but Bradley is working from the bottom.

Case is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bradley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Joe Bradley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Emanuel Case is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Case just content to control the position.

Emanuel Case showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Case has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
