Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takem Downem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jed Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takem Downem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jed Knight!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Downem shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Downem is controlling the pace.
Downem missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Downem prevents Knight from standing back up.

Downem escapes and gets back to his feet.
Downem throws a series of punches but Knight avoids them all with ease.
Knight swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Downem.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Knight fails with an attempt to clinch.
Downem dodges the punch combination from Knight.
Knight is looking to clinch but Downem is avoiding it.
Knight scores with a jab to the head.

Downem clinches up against the cage.
Downem misses with a hook from the clinch.

Downem gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Knight regains guard.
Knight wants to get back to his feet but Downem is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Downem controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Downem passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Downem looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Knight parries the strikes from Downem easily there. Downem is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Knight to escape.
Downem tries to move into full mount but can't pass Knight's legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Downem stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Downem fails with a takedown attempt.
Knight falls off balance throwing a combination

and Downem counters by moving into the clinch.

Downem drags the fight down to the ground.

Knight got a little sloppy there for a moment and Downem has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knight has managed to get both his arms back between Downem's legs - danger averted.
Downem is pulling down on Knight's head. It's preventing any offense from Knight, at least for the moment.
Knight is looking to work some ground and pound but Downem has wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Downem controlling the position.
Knight really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Downem. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Downem's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Downem has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Knight off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Downem drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Downem decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takem Downem dominated that round.
That's time! Downem's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Knight throws a series of punches but Downem moves out of range.

Downem drives through and clinches with Knight against the cage.

Downem turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Downem manages to end up in side control.
Knight wants to get back to his feet but Downem is dominant here and he's now got Knight's back!
Knight is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Downem off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Downem has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Knight's body.
Knight is trying to stand back up.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Downem controlling the positon.

Knight is trying to stand back up.

Knight fending off the submission attempt from Downem.
Downem controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Downem seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Knight for as long as he can get away with.

Downem is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Knight is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Takem Downem!
