The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grey throws out the jab.
Light lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Grey darts in and clinches Light up against the cage.

Grey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Light defends it well.
Light is refusing to be controlled, as Grey sits in half guard.
Grey seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Light loads up on a big right hand but Grey slips the punch.

Grey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Light was well out of range. Poor timing from Grey.

Light doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Grey tries to land a knee to the head but Light blocks with his arms.
Light tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Grey's elbow.
Light goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Light can't find room to land a body shot as Grey controls the action.

Light tries to throw a body punch but Grey avoids it by throwing Light back against the cage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Light uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Grey.
Grey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Light throws a series of punches but Grey avoids them all with ease.

Grey scores with a sloppy right hand. Light should have avoided that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Light counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Grey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Light but Light pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Speedy Light is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Light tries to clinch up but Grey circles away and keeps his distance.
Grey misses with a looping left.
Speedy Light is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Light is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Raymond Grey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Light wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Grey shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Light napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Grey swings around for an armbar but Light sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Grey's guard.

Grey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Light defends well.

Grey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Light doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Light manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Light engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Grey is looking to cinch up a triangle. Light throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Grey's body to avoid the submission. Grey has instead reached around Light's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Grey arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
