Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Belcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hop Sing Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jung has chosen Jiu Jitsu as his entrance music. Hop Sing Jung acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Belcher!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hop Sing Jung!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung slaps away a takedown attempt from Belcher, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jung throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Belcher tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jung is in Belcher's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belcher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Belcher is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jung is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jung felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Jung is looking for a sweep. Belcher is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jung wants to control but Belcher is keeping busy.

Belcher has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Belcher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Belcher is trying to control the action in half guard but Jung is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jung has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Belcher is working away from the top position though.

Belcher postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Belcher lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jung is looking to control Belcher's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jung avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Belcher connects with a nice short shot to Jung's temple.
Jung is still in real trouble! Can Belcher finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Belcher thows a huge punch but Jung dodges it nicely.

Jung seems to have recovered his senses.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jake Belcher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jung is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Belcher's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Belcher's back!

Jung is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Belcher has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Jung seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Belcher's chin but Belcher turns very nicely into Jung's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Belcher.

It looks like Hop Sing Jung has been cut.

Belcher stands up over Jung, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jung is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Belcher is aware though and is defending well.
Belcher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jung can do to turn this around?

Belcher lands a big elbow - Jung is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Belcher!
