Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Frankie Palmeri!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tank Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmeri misses the shot to the body.
We've been told by Palmeri's head coaches at Holding Cell that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shamrock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palmeri.
Palmeri keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shamrock keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Palmeri.
Shamrock tries to work over Palmeri's front leg with a kick but Palmeri checks it.
Palmeri with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Shamrock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Palmeri feinted with a counter takedown.
Sloppy strikes from Shamrock. Those never looked like landing.
Shamrock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palmeri circles away quickly and effectively.
Shamrock throws a series of punches but Palmeri moves out of range.
Shamrock misses with an uppercut.
Tank Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmeri lands a leg kick that knocks Shamrock off balance momentarily.
Palmeri feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shamrocks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!


It looks like Tank Shamrock has been cut.
Shamrock throws a poor cross that misses
and Palmeri counters with a good, hard body kick but Shamrock shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Palmeri lands with a nice body kick.

Palmeri pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Palmeri ducks under a wild hook from Shamrock.
Palmeri throwing a counter right hand but Shamrock manages to avoid it.
Palmeri defending well as Shamrock loads up on a big left hand.
Shamrock takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shamrock ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Shamrock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Palmeri.
Shamrock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palmeri.
Palmeri is looking to counter with head kicks.
Shamrock throws a right and a left that both miss.
Palmeri throws a leg kick which misses Shamrock's front leg but catches the back leg as Shamrock tries to avoid it.
Shamrock scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Palmeri doesn't seem bothered though.
Shamrock tried to score with a low kick but Palmeri checks it.
Palmeri appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Shamrock just misses with a punch to the body.
A good leg kick by Palmeri.

Shamrock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shamrock misses with a double jab
and Palmeri cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shamrock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Palmeri lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shamrock has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shamrock and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Despite the aggression on Shamrock's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Shamrock looks to land a combination but Palmeri avoids it well.
Shamrock throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Shamrock gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Palmeri connects with an inside leg kick.
Shamrock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shamrock swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Palmeri counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Palmeri has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Palmeri lands a nice short elbow.
Shamrock has hold of Palmeri's hands but Palmeri slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Palmeri uses his free foot to push down on Shamrock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shamrock.
Palmeri postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shamrock looks a forlorn figure.
Palmeri lands a couple of good shots and Shamrock has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

That has opened up Tank Shamrock's cut even more.
Palmeri is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Shamrock just trying to survive but Palmeri is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Palmeri scores with punches to the body.


The cut above Tank Shamrock's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shamrock covers up after that shot from Palmeri.


Tank Shamrock's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tank Shamrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Frankie Palmeri!
Frankie Palmeri retains his heavyweight title!
