Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ajax Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ajax Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hector Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armstrong shoots in and bounces Cruz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Armstrong decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Armstrong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Armstrong tries to counter by clinching up but Cruz breaks away and moves out of range.

Armstrong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cruz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cruz is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Armstrong presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Armstrong drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cruz pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cruz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cruz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Armstrong wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

As Cruz tries to get set, Armstrong tries to push him back and clinch up but Cruz manages to avoid the attempt.
Hector Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruz dives in for a single leg takedown but Armstrong sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cruz has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Armstrong is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Cruz is trying to drag Armstrong to the mat but Armstrong just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hector Cruz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Armstrong shoots in but no luck this time.
Despite the aggression on Cruz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Armstrong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cruz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armstrong somewhat.

Armstrong is looking to counter the offense by Cruz and move into the clinch.
Cruz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Armstrong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Armstrong closes the distance and clinches up with Cruz, looking for a takedown. Armstrong pushes Cruz against the cage but Cruz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hector Cruz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Armstrong circles away quickly and effectively.

Well Cruz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
