Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Benson!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Benson.


It looks like Hung Kerr has been cut.

Benson clinches with his opponent.
Benson working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Kerr is trying to stall.
Kerr really is a fat lump.

Kerr breaks the clinch.

Benson clinches with his opponent.
A body shot lands from Benson.
Benson is stalling here.

Kerr manages to break the clinch.
Benson lands with an overhand left.

Benson darts in and clinches Kerr up against the cage.

Kerr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Benson drives through and clinches with Kerr against the cage.
Kerr struggles to land a body shot inside as Benson controls his hands.

Benson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kerr closes the distance and pushes Benson back into the cage.
Benson tries to break free but Kerr pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr blocks the elbow strike.
Benson lands a left hand.
Kerr blocks an elbow strike from Benson.
Kerr drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Benson.
Kerr keeps control of Benson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kerr pulls guard successfully.
Benson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kerr doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kerr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Benson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kerr's guard.

Kerr has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Benson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kerr has tightened it up now! Benson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
