Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor The Highlander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Highlander's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Notorious Biggie Small. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The Highlander misses with a low kick.
The Highlander pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The Highlander throws a hook but Carvalho avoids it easily.
Carvalho connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The Highlander throws out a loose jab but Carvalho uses good head movement to avoid it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by The Highlander.

Carvalho has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Conor The Highlander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carvalho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Carvalho stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and The Highlander has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Carvalho manages to get his head free but now The Highlander has transitioned to an armbar! Carvalho grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from The Highlander! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

After the fight, Conor The Highlander was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
