Griffin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Freire paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Griffin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Freire.
Freire throws the left hand but Griffin avoids the punch easily.
Griffin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Freire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Freire postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Griffin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Freire, into his guard.

Griffin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Freire to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Griffin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Freire pulls down on the head and he's put Griffin to sleep! This one is all over!
