Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Odis Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Archer!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter wants to clinch.

Archer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carter's guard.
Archer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter working a defensive guard here.

Archer controls from within his opponent's guard.
Carter is trying to control the position but Archer postures up.
Archer looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Carter wants to clinch up but Archer keeps it at a distance.

Archer shoots in and gets a takedown into Carter's guard.
Archer postures up.
Archer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Archer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Archer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Archer is continuing to stall.
Archer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Carter tries a low kick but Archer avoids it.
Archer tries a head kick but it misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Archer throws a body shot but no joy.

Carter tries to sprawl but Archer drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Archer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Archer works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Archer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Let's hope that Archer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Archer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carter's half guard.
Archer is taking a breather. Carter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
More stalling from Archer.
Archer with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Archer is trying to work for a kimura but Carter is defending well.
Archer missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Archer has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Archer looking to control and managing it successfully.

Archer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carter can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Archer is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Carter is in real trouble.

Archer has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Carter is in real trouble here. Archer gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Carter is tapping out! Archer wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Shawn Archer!
A less than humble Shawn Archer misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
