Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nero Burningrom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takem Downem!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burningrom throws a sloppy head kick

and Downem counters with a nice double leg into side control. Burningrom won't be happy with that.
Downem creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Downem landing strikes.
Downem scores with punches from side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Burningrom's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Burningrom is trying to get back to his feet.
Downem controlling from side mount.
Burningrom is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Downem has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Burningrom tries to improve position but can't.

Downem stands up.
Burningrom shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Downem but Downem pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A punch combination from Downem misses.

Downem gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Downem lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Downem lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Burningrom or not.

Downem wants the takedown. Burningrom is fighting it off but Downem persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Burningrom's guard against the cage.

Burningrom looking for a guillotine here but Downem defends easily.

Burningrom looking for subs off his back but Downem has passed one foot through into half guard.
Downem perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Burningrom looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Downem controlling the pace.
Downem has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Downem is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Burningrom sees it coming and defends easily.
Downem working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Burningrom tries to kick Downem off but Downem keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Downem seems to be working for a kimura but Burningrom defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Burningrom is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Downem scores with a couple of nice shots.
Burningrom looks like he's trying to stand up.

Downem moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Burningrom.
Downem trying to control the position but Burningrom is working away.

Downem is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Burningrom's shoulder. That is not cool.

Downem decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Burningrom shoots and misses
and Burningrom takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Burningrom shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Downem as he jumps to the side.
Downem feints a counter leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nero Burningrom. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Downem throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Burningrom tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Downem is in Burningrom's guard.
Downem is in close to Burningrom's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Downem controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Burningrom looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Downem has picked Burningrom up and slammed him! Burningrom can't keep hold of the triangle and Downem manages to pass to side control!
Burningrom takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Burningrom manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Downem makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Downem avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burningrom doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Downem counter with a right hand.

Burningrom is rocked!
Downem drops Burningrom with a naaaaasty hook - Burningrom is in real trouble here! Downem dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
