Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zell Griever!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Amis Pelle!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelle throws a good cross that connects.
Griever swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pelle.

Griever looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Pelle looks to land a combination but Griever avoids it well.

We've been informed that Pelle has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Griever tries to score with some ground and pound. Pelle controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Griever has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Some bone on bone action there as Pelle checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Griever has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Pelle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Griever.

Griever throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A lazy left from Pelle finds it's target.
Pelle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pelle might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Griever scoring well with a low kick there.
Pelle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed right hand from Griever misses the target.
Pelle loads up on a big right hand but Griever slips the punch.
Griever closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Pelle! Griever dives in looking to finish! Pelle is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
