The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels moves into range and connects with a jab.
Daniels lands a right hook to the body.
Daniels throws a body shot but no joy.
Kornilov throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Jack Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daniels lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kornilov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Daniels misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Kornilov counters with a thumping low kick.
Daniels throws a shot from downtown. Kornilov moves away and avoids it.

Daniels moves out of range as Kornilov throws a body kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Daniels.

Daniels throws a leg kick which misses Kornilov's front leg but catches the back leg as Kornilov tries to avoid it.
Daniels takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Daniels tries to land a front kick but Kornilov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kornilov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Daniels lands with a thumping leg kick.
Daniels looks to land a left hand but Kornilov moved out of range nicely.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kornilov, right into the meat.

Kornilov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kornilov fires out a quick counter leg kick but Daniels just manages to avoid it.
Kornilov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Wolf Training Lair in the buildup to the fight.
Kornilov swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels.
A little feinted left hand from Kornilov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Daniels throws a shot from downtown. Kornilov moves away and avoids it.
Kornilov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Daniels takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kornilov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kornilov drops his hands momentarily and Daniels takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kornilov counters with a crisp right that sends Daniels to the canvas! Kornilov follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

After the fight, Vasily Kornilov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
