Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Troublefield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Daath!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daath fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Troublefield tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Daath gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Daath throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Troublefield has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Troublefield has Daath pressed against the cage.
Troublefield works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Troublefield wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Daath's coach down at Fight Factory was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Daath's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Daath changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Troublefield fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Troublefield lands a big head kick that sends Daath tumbling to the mat! Troublefield takes a step backwards and waves Daath back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Daath is rocked!
Daath lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Daath avoids the head kick by Troublefield.
Troublefield throws a leg kick but Daath sees it coming and checks it nicely.
As Troublefield backs off Daath throws a huge counter combo but Troublefield manages to avoid it all.

Daath takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Max Daath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Daath looks to score with a jab to the body but Troublefield is just out of range.
Troublefield tries to counter with a takedown but Daath is quick to defend against it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Daath ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Troublefield rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daath moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Daath counters with a single leg into guard. Troublefield didn't expect that.

Troublefield is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Troublefield manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daath manages to get himself to full guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Troublefield's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Troublefield thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Troublefield seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Daath for as long as he can get away with.
