PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Chocolate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chocolate has chosen Cookie Dance as his entrance music. Chip Chocolate told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Chocolate!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Chocolate displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jordan throws out the jab.
Jordan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chocolate to score with a decent uppercut.

Chocolate shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jordan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chocolate not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like Chocolate might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jordan can't keep his opponent in guard - Chocolate advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Chocolate seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jordan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jordan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chocolate momentarily.
Jordan takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Matt Jordan has been cut.
Jordan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chocolate looks like he wants to counter punch here.
We've been hearing reports that Jordan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chocolate tries to bum rush Jordan with a series of wild strikes but Jordan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jordan pushes Chocolate up against the cage in a clinch.
Jordan is struggling to control the position.
Chocolate doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jordan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Chocolate has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jordan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Chocolate is looking to control Jordan's arms but Jordan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Chocolate has his back to the cage.

Chocolate is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jordan is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chocolate to the mat. Chocolate regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chocolate can do anything to dispel that myth.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chocolate holds on and takes a little breather.

Chocolate takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Chocolate lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Chocolate paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Jordan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jordan lands in his opponent's guard.
Chocolate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jordan manages to get himself to full guard.

Chip Chocolate comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chocolate has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Chip Chocolate was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
