The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beloff tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Beloff closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Beloff lands with a right to the head.
Beloff has a couple of punches blocked by Putin.
Beloff misses with a punch to the body.
Beloff lands a nice uppercut.

It looks like Beast Putin has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Putin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Putin prevents a body shot from Beloff.
Beloff tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Putin wants a takedown but no success here.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Beloff.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Putin.
Putin blocks an uppercut.
Beloff lands a body shot in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Putin.
A short right from Putin on the inside.
Beloff struggles to land a body shot inside as Putin controls his hands.
Beloff lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Putin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A shot to the body from Beloff misses
enabling Putin to counter with a crisp jab.
A chopping leg kick lands by Putin.

Beloff lands a left and a right that send Putin crashing to the mat, dazed. Beloff thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Putin is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Putin swings for the body but Beloff moves out of range.
Putin is still on wobbly legs! Can Beloff finish him?
Beloff takes a swing at Putin's ribcage but misses.
Putin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Beloff counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Beloff has taken the fight to the clinch.
I was talking to Beloff's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Beloff prevents the takedown attempt.
Putin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Beloff.
Putin looks winded!
Beloff lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Beloff loads up on a right hand - it lands flush and knocks Putin senseless! What a punch!
