Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Batista!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cormier gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Batista trying to control the position from guard on top but Cormier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Batista passes Cormier's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Batista is thwarting Cormier's attempts to control the position.
Batista wants to pass to mount but Cormier is defending the position.

Batista is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Batista trying to mount his opponent but Cormier defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cormier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Batista pulls his head out easily.
Cormier works his way to full guard. Good work.
Cormier can't keep his opponent in guard - Batista advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batista is trying to control. Cormier wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Batista is trying to work for a kimura but Cormier is defending well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Batista keeps trying to improve his position.
Cormier wants to control but Batista is keeping busy.

Batista has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cormier tries to hold on but Batista pushes him away.
Batista is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Cormier is in real trouble.

Dave Batista decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
