PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Benduover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Abrams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benduover comes into the arena with Sober blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that David Abrams was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brutus Benduover!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Abrams!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benduover shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Abrams manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Benduover misses with a combination
and Abrams counters with a nice uppercut.

Abrams gets caught napping as Benduover dives in and scores a takedown. Abrams manages to retain guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Abrams trying to control the position.

Benduover has gone for a leg lock! Abrams slips out almost immediately though and dives into Benduover's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benduover is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Abrams presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Benduover will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Abrams up against the cage.
Abrams wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Benduover has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Abrams is trying to keep an underhook but Benduover manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Abrams manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Benduover lands a nice looking body shot.
Abrams looks winded!

Benduover drops Abrams with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Abrams looks back up at him and smiles so Benduover waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Abrams is rocked!


It looks like David Abrams has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benduover finds Abrams's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Abrams flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Benduover lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Abrams will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brutus Benduover!
Brutus Benduover was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
