PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philp Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Beast kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Next Big Thing. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philp Fry!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fry shoots in but The Beast avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The Beast appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
The Beast looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Nice takedown defense from Fry. No joy for The Beast on that attempt.
Fry is trying hard to land a takedown here. The Beast sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fry misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brock The Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philp Fry.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fry or perhaps it was just good defense by The Beast, which made it look bad.
The Beast definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Fry has eaten all the pies!
Fry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Beast tries to avoid it but Fry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Beast to the ground. The Beast escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Beast as he jumps to the side.
The Beast appears to be looking for a big counter.
Fry has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fry there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The Beast wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

The Beast feints and as Fry raises his hands in defense, The Beast changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The Beast makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The Beast is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The Beast wants to control from the top but Fry keeps moving.

Fry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and The Beast defends well.
The Beast wanted to stand there but Fry had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Beast won't allow Fry to sweep him here.

The Beast looking to sit in guard and control but Fry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fry slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The Beast can't keep his opponent in guard - Fry advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The Beast wants to control but Fry is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The Beast on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if The Beast tries to get out of the position.

The Beast tries to get to full guard but Fry has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fry tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but The Beast defends well and Fry ends up having to push The Beast into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The Beast displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fry.

Fry has The Beast pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fry bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Beast's guard.

Fry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The Beast wants to stand and escape but Fry is having none of it.
Fry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The Beast is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fry is aware though and is defending well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fry manages to get an easy takedown there - catching The Beast on his heels. He'll look to pass The Beast's guard now, I'm sure.

The Beast wants to sweep here but Fry controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fry passes the guard and advances to mount!
Fry avoids the attempt from The Beast to control.

Let's hope that Fry has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A close second round but Philp Fry will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Fry is looking for a sweep. The Beast is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fry manages to get to full guard.

The Beast drops back looking for a leg! Fry is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fry manages to kick The Beast off! The Beast jumps back into Fry's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fry lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fry pushes down on The Beast's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The Beast is looking to control Fry's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can The Beast avoid being mounted?

Fry wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Beast keeps working.
The Beast trying to hold on to Fry's head to control him but Fry postures up.

Fry scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The Beast has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fry is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Brock The Beast showed his dominance in that final round.
I think The Beast has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
