Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julius Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexis Brouillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexis Brouillard has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Julius Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julius Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexis Brouillard!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brouillard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Evans could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Brouillard controls the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brouillard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Evans sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Brouillard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working.

Evans is not content to let Brouillard control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brouillard misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Evans was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Brouillard tries for a takedown but Evans circles away easily
and Evans counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Evans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Evans seems keen to control Brouillard's posture.
Brouillard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Evans has control of Brouillard's left arm, preventing Brouillard from doing any damage.

Evans wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Brouillard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Evans's waist but Evans gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brouillard off to one side.

Evans tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brouillard just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brouillard wants to sweep here but Evans controlling him for the moment.

Evans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brouillard is just riding it out for now. Evans eventually gives up the hold.

Brouillard is looking to regain half guard here but Evans keeps moving and retains side control.
Evans is chipping away with strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brouillard tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Brouillard is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Evans is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Brouillard is in a horrible position here. Evans smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Brouillard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julius Evans will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Brouillard shoots for a takedown but Evans saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Evans gets tackled into the cage by Brouillard. Brouillard maintains the clinch.

Brouillard is looking to work some ground and pound but Evans has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brouillard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

As Brouillard looks to move away, Evans throws a big counter combo but Brouillard just gets out of the way.

I would just about give that final round to Alexis Brouillard.
Well Brouillard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
