Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Numbers Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dicky Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Numbers Franklin has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Numbers Franklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dicky Duck!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franklin gets caught flat footed, as Duck shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Duck stays in close to Franklin's body and controls the position.
Duck trying to control the position from guard on top but Franklin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Franklin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Duck postures up.
Duck has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Franklin keeping moving, preventing Duck from controlling successfully.

Duck gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duck feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Duck is keen to just control but Franklin is a slippery customer.

Franklin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Duck is trying to control. Franklin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Duck is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Franklin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Duck wants to pass to mount but Franklin is defending the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Franklin trying to hold on to Duck's head to control him but Duck postures up.
Duck wants to pass the guard but Franklin is defending well.
Duck lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Duck is looking to pass Franklin's guard but actually Franklin recovers to full guard.

Franklin has his foot on Duck's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duck works his way back into a safe position though.

Duck has gone for a leg lock! Franklin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Duck's guard.

Franklin cracks Duck with a solid left hand.

Duck wants to control but Franklin passes easily into half guard.
Duck is trying to control but Franklin manages to pass to mount!
Duck keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Duck tries to lock up and control but Franklin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dicky Duck dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Duck drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Duck tries to score with some ground and pound. Franklin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Duck wants to control but Franklin is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duck decides to stand up, so the ref orders Franklin to his feet.

Franklin feints and as Duck raises his hands in defense, Franklin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franklin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Duck wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Franklin is now in half guard.
Franklin prevents Duck from improving his position.
Duck is trying is best to control the position here.
Duck is trying to stand.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Duck is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Franklin pulls his head out easily.
Franklin stalling.

Duck is looking to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Duck shoots in and bounces Franklin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Duck is breathing heavily.
Franklin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Franklin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duck preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Franklin is thwarting Duck's attempts to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dicky Duck will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Franklin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Duck decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Duck escapes and gets back to his feet.
Duck misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Franklin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Duck wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
Duck landing some decent shots from guard.
Franklin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Franklin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Duck manages to pass to side control.
Dicky Duck has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Franklin is trying to maintain the position but Duck is very close to passing his half guard.

Duck decides to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duck cracks a nice hook into Franklin's ribs.
Duck has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Duck closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Franklin's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Duck throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Duck sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duck with a nice head shot there.
Duck slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Franklin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duck controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Franklin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Duck bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duck trying to control the position but Franklin is working away.

Duck has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Duck shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duck was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Franklin parries the strikes from Duck easily there. Duck is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Franklin to escape.
Numbers Franklin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dicky Duck is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duck taking a break here but Franklin is having none of it and regains half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dicky Duck comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Duck has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
