Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Kirmayr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Kirmayr will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darrell Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Kirmayr !
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirmayr misses with a double jab
and Schultz counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kirmayr looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Kirmayr has managed to clinch.

Schultz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Schultz manages to end up in side control.

Schultz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Schultz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Schultz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kirmayr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schultz is in Kirmayr 's guard.

Schultz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Schultz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Schultz tries to stand but Kirmayr is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sloppy strikes from Schultz. Those never looked like landing.

Schultz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kirmayr to the ground. Schultz is now in Kirmayr 's guard.

Schultz gets to his feet - Kirmayr follows without any prompting.

Schultz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kirmayr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Schultz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kirmayr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Schultz lands a few punches from side control.

Schultz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kirmayr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Schultz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schultz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Schultz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kirmayr to the ground. Schultz is now in Kirmayr 's guard.
Kirmayr wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Schultz manages to pass to side control.

Schultz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Schultz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kirmayr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kirmayr is looking for a sweep. Schultz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kirmayr is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schultz seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kirmayr is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
