Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Youngblood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Rack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Youngblood might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Linkin Park - Numb. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Youngblood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Brandon Rack!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Youngblood has closed the distance and engaged Rack in a clinch.

Rack breaks the clinch.

Youngblood clinches up against the cage.
I was talking to Youngblood's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Rack escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Youngblood fails with the takedown.
Horrible takedown attempt by Youngblood or perhaps it was just good defense by Rack, which made it look bad.
Youngblood looks for a takedown but Rack sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Youngblood. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Youngblood fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Youngblood drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rack looking for a sweep. Not yet Rack, not yet.
Rack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Youngblood lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Youngblood scoring with some ground and pound.
Youngblood throwing strikes but missing.
Youngblood loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Rack had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Youngblood defends it easily.
Youngblood lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Youngblood trying to control but Rack is working from the bottom.
Rack wants to control the position but Youngblood says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Youngblood wants to advance to full mount but Rack doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Youngblood with a nice head shot there.

Rack has his foot on Youngblood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Youngblood works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Youngblood postures up.
Rack throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Youngblood passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rack takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Youngblood trying to control the position but Rack is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Youngblood in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Youngblood lands some shots froms side control.


Rack is rocked!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rack is trying to improve his position.
Rack is still in real trouble! Can Youngblood finish him?
Youngblood working the body and head with strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rack is looking for a sweep.
Youngblood staying calm.

Youngblood wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rack, who protects the arm well.
Youngblood in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Rack looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Youngblood turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Youngblood!
