Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, El Matador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zlatan Arshavin!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Arshavin misses.
Matador appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Matador has closed the distance and engaged Arshavin in a clinch.
Matador stalls.
Arshavin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Matador's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Matador gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Matador is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Matador breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Arshavin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matador circles away.
Matador throws a series of punches but Arshavin avoids them all with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matador swats away the attempt to clinch by Arshavin.
Matador looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Arshavin throws a head kick that misses.
Arshavin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
El Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zlatan Arshavin.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Matador uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Arshavin has time to react.
Matador throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Matador throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Arshavin was covering up waiting for the punch and Matador finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Matador won't allow Arshavin to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Arshavin is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matador pushes Arshavin off and scrambles back to his feet.
Matador bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Arshavin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Arshavin looks winded!
Arshavin on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Matador grinds an elbow into Arshavin's temple.
Arshavin is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Arshavin is rocked!
It looks like Zlatan Arshavin has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matador is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Arshavin is trying to escape and Matador transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Arshavin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Matador! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). El Matador!
A very excited looking El Matador rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
