Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparring Fighter 1 (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighter 1 has chosen Lou Reed - The day John Kennedy Died as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Red!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sparring Fighter 1!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fighter 1 throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Red tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fighter 1 is in Red's guard.

Fighter 1 gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Fighter 1 closes the distance and clinches.
Red jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fighter 1 walks away with a smile on his face. Red gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fighter 1 pushes Red up against the cage in a clinch.
Fighter 1 scores with a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fighter 1 creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Fighter 1 lands a body shot in the clinch.
Nice elbow from Fighter 1.
A short body shot lands from Fighter 1 as the two fighters clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fighter 1 breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fighter 1 fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Red, pushing him back against the cage.
Red definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fighter 1 lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fighter 1 lands an elbow inside that Red shrugs off.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fighter 1.
Fighter 1 lands a right hand that snaps the head of Red backwards.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Fighter 1.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fighter 1 pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Red clinches with his opponent.

Fighter 1 breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fighter 1 closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fighter 1 decides to stand back up. Fighter 1 steps back and let's Red get back to his feet.

Fighter 1 gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Fighter 1 breaks the clinch.

Fighter 1 gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fighter 1 lands an uppercut.
Red wants a takedown but no success here.

Fighter 1 manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fighter 1 has managed to clinch.
Fighter 1 gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
A short body shot lands from Fighter 1 as the two fighters clinch.
Red is breathing heavily.
Fighter 1 lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fighter 1 lands a right hand that snaps the head of Red backwards.
Fighter 1 lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter 1 connects with a knee to the head.
Fighter 1 prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Red. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter 1 working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Fighter 1 breaks from the clinch.

Fighter 1 has closed the distance and engaged Red in a clinch.
Fighter 1 working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Fighter 1 knocks Red to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


Red is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fighter 1 decides to stand up, so the ref orders Red to his feet.
Oh Red is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fighter 1 clinches.
Red is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fighter 1 is keeping busy.
Fighter 1 lands a knee to the body.
Fighter 1 landing knees to the head.
Fighter 1 gets through Red's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fighter 1 throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Fighter 1 dips a shoulder and cracks Red with a mighty uppercut! Red falls back against the cage and Fighter 1 unloads with a barrage of strikes! Red is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Fighter 1 screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sparring Fighter 1!
