The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burgess decides to stand and escape the position.
Burgess dives in and grabs Di Villiers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Di Villiers pushes down on Burgess's head and hops out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Di Villiers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burgess is just riding it out for now. Di Villiers eventually gives up the hold.

Di Villiers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Burgess looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Burgess looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Burgess!

Di Villiers is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Burgess. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Burgess changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Di Villiers tries to avoid it but Burgess manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Di Villiers to the ground. Di Villiers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Burgess has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
