Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JP Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andy James!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James rushes Peterson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
James will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Peterson up against the cage.
James goes for a takedown in the clinch but Peterson prevents it.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peterson closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James tries to counter by closing the distance.
James tries to clinch there but Peterson circles away.
James stuffs the takedown.
Despite the aggression on James's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peterson blocks a head kick by James.
James shoots in for a double leg but Peterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
JP Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy James.

James takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Peterson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James goes for a double leg but Peterson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peterson continues to drive forward.
Peterson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Peterson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
James gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Peterson scores with a takedown into James's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peterson content to stall in guard here.
Peterson is working James over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
James wants to stand and escape but Peterson is having none of it.
Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Peterson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Peterson tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.

James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Peterson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Peterson is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Peterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Peterson thows a huge punch but James dodges it nicely.
Peterson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peterson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks James with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Peterson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Peterson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peterson tries to get out of the position.

James decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Peterson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Peterson circles away.
JP Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy James.

Peterson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
James is breathing heavily.
Peterson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Peterson controlling the pace.
Nice strikes from Peterson there.
Peterson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Peterson wants to take a breather but James is having none of it.

James is rocked!
Peterson lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked James! More strikes land and this one is all over! Peterson jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
